The two Cs every dreamer should know.

Hare and tortoise agreed to contest each other in a race to  see who is the best runner. Knowing how fast tortoise could be, Hare was very confident of winning the race. The race began with Hare taking the lead with a yawning gap between him and his competitor. Just some few meters to the finishing line, Hare decided to take a nap considering the huge gap difference and the fact that tortoise was too slow to make it to the finishing line before him. Unfortunately, what was to be a nap turned into a deep sleep and soon tortoise passed by sleeping Hare and eventually won the race. Hare woke up to realise tortoise  had  won the race and started cursing himself. My grandmother never got tired of  telling me this fable to caution me against complacency in my academic life and life on the whole. May her soul rest in peace.
Dreams always go unfulfilled when we allow complacency to creep into out beds. At the small taste of success we get too excited and think there's nothing more to do again. We allow pride to swallow us instead of swallowing it. We begin to rest on our oars and take our foot of the paddle because we are satisfied with what we have seen so far in achieving our dreams. Everything changes, our humility turns into arrogance, we no longer want to serve but expect to be served because we think of ourselves us masters. We fail to build or improve on whatever success we have chalked and soon fades and go forgotten. Let us not get too excited,  there's so much to do to see those dreams come true. Complacency is a barrier to winning, consistency is the springboard to the finishing line and like Oliver Twist, ask for more. The choice is yours!
